New Miss World Philippines Michelle Dee thanks supporters, vows to make them proud


Newly crowned Miss World Philippines 2019 Michelle Dee on Monday thanked her friends, family, mentors and supporters, saying that she is embarking on a "new chapter" in her life.

"I've just reached a major milestone in my life and all I can really say is Thank You. Thank you to everyone who's believed in me since the beginning. I don't think I'll ever be the perfect queen but I promise to try my best and to continue to do so every day throughout my reign. Michelle also thanked her fellow candidates.

Michelle won the top title at the Miss World Philippines pageant held in Quezon City on Sunday evening. 

She is a Kapuso talent and the latest beauty queen in her famous family, being the daughter of Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez and the cousin of Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 Wyn Marquez. 

Two other Kapuso stars were big winners that night: Isabelle De Leon took the Miss Multinational Philippines 2019 title, while Kelley Day was named Miss Eco International Philippines 2019.

The other candidates who took home titles were Katrina Llegado (Reina Hispanoamericana FIlipinas 2019),  Vanessa Mae Walters (Miss Eco Teen International Philippines 2019), and Glyssa Perez (Miss Philippines Tourism 2019:). — BM, GMA News
