Isabelle De Leon opens up about past experiences with bullying

Like many children, Isabelle De Leon wasn't spared from harsh words and criticism from her peers growing up.

In an episode of "Tunay Na Buhay," the Kapuso actress and aspiring beauty queen shared that she too went through an awkward phase during her teenage years.

"Kasi mga bata eh, hindi mo rin masisi na i-te-tease ka nila. Eh 'yung time na 'yun hindi naman ako sobrang cute, syempre I had acne, 'yung hormones ko and all that," she said.

She added that she had trouble figuring out how to fit in and how to present herself.

"Hindi ko alam, how am I going to fit it? Am I going to be funny? Smart?" she said.

It was at that stage where the words got to her and she started doubting herself.

"Pagka na-experience mo yung ganun, yung tendency kung baga i-doubt mo yung sarili mo. Kaya ko ba mapatunayan itong mga pangarap ko, maabot ang mga pangarap ko?" she said.

Now an established actress, singer, songwriter and musician, Isabelle is also among the 40 candidates vying for the six crowns in Miss World Philippines 2019. — Jessica Bartolome/BM, GMA News
