Heart Evangelista recalls struggling to fit in, crying 'so many times' when she was younger

Heart Evangelista got real about the struggles she faced as she was growing up, proving that even the most beautiful flower must grow from dirt.

During one of her chatty moods, the Kapuso star and style icon opened her Instagram to questions. One of her followers asked how emotional she is.

Heart revealed that she would "cry so many times" when she was younger because she struggled to be seen and accepted by her peers.

"When I was young, I would cry so many times. I wanted everyone to see 'me'," she said.

"I tried so hard to be accepted with friends - I would hate it if they would just disappear just because I didn't fit in, or I couldn't give them what they wanted (because I'm usually the one who follows and kikay kikay so I wasn't taken seriously)," she added.

Years and years later, Heart now knows her own worth and has packed in a lot of wisdom.

"But now? I know my heart and God knows my intentions. I know my worth and my capacity to love. So I don't cry over people. If they are truly your friend, they will come around. No anger just love actually," she said.
