Filipina beauty queen April Love Jordan succumbs to cancer

Filipina beauty queen April Love Jordan passed away after battling liver cancer. She was 31.

According to a report by PEP.ph, the Miss World Philippines 2012 runner-up died on June 21, Friday. 

Miss World Philippines 2012 winner Queenierich Rehman took to Instagram on Monday to mourn the passing of her friend and fellow beauty queen.

Posting a video of them together singing to Beyonce's "Love on Top" inside a car, Queenierich said she couldn't "accept that you're gone."

"We won't be able to have these wonderful moments together. I know that you're in good place right now and we will truly miss you. You've fought hard in life till your very last breath."

"We are truly grateful to have met you and ofcourse being one of your close friends during Miss World Philippines and the years after that. We love you and we will miss you so much," she added.

April Love joined several local pageants in the past years, finishing in the Top 10 of Binibining Pilipinas 2009, as 2nd runner-up in Mutya ng Pilipinas, and as a finalist in Miss Philippines Earth 2006.

Pageant coach and blogger Norman Tinio sent his condolences to April Love's family through a Facebook post.

"I extend my deepest sympathies to the family of beauty queen April Love Jordan who passed away last Friday, June 21. She is 31. May her soul be at peace with our Heavenly Father."

He said her remains will lie at Heritage Chapel 9 in Taguig, tentatively scheduled on June 25. — LA, GMA News
