Catriona Gray reveals conversation with Miss South Africa moments before winning the crown

Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray revealed what she and Miss South Africa Tamaryn Green — who would later on become 1st runner-up — talked about moments before winning the crown.

“Just to describe that moment, it was really crazy,” Catriona told the media at her homecoming presscon on Wednesday.

According to Catriona, she told Miss South Africa, “I’m so happy to be here with you. I know you’ll do amazing whatever happens.”

Miss South Africa then replied: “You too babe, you too.”

“I can only imagine how many people tried to read lips. Now you guys know what the lips are saying,” Catriona said.

The Miss Universe 2018 queen will be having a series of homecoming activities in the following days. On Thursday, she will have her grand homecoming metro-wide parade, while on Saturday, she will have another one around the Araneta Center. — LA, GMA News
