Miss International PHL Ahtisa Manalo almost became a cop

Miss International Philippines Ahtisa Manalo wears many hats: she is a beauty queen, an animal lover, and an LGBTQ supporter—but what you may not know is that she was almost a police officer as well.

During her send-off on Thursday to the Miss International pageant in Japan, Ahtisa revealed that she wasn't even supposed to join Binibining Pilipinas 2018 because she had already applied at the Philippine National Police Academy.

She said that some of her close relatives are police officers and she was inspired by them to make a difference.

"My uncles, also my grandfather, are part of the police force. I wanted to make a difference, I wanted to explore everything that I can, cause I know I want to do a lot and that's one of it," she said.

The beauty queen admitted that the idea came to her because she loved "Charlie's Angels," the iconic movie about three tough and beautiful private detectives.

"When I was a kid I really wanted to be part of the Charlie's Angels and I think the best way that I can do that is by being a police officer," she said.

However, Ahtisa's dreams don't end with her winning a crown.

She still might pursue becoming a police officer, or her many other goals.

"I want to do a lot of things. I want to be a police officer, I want to have my own business, I want to go back to school again, I want to be a veterinarian.  I don't know what I'm going to do in the future," she said.
