Miss Universe posts stunning throwback photo of Margie Moran after being crowned in 1973

The ever elegant beauty queen Maria Margarita "Margie" Moran attracted tens of thousands of "hearts" on Instagram this Monday after the official Miss Universe account posted a stunning throwback photo from 1973.

Margie in the picture is surrounded by members of the press, the crown perched perfectly on her head and her eyelashes framing her eyes in the most striking way.

Margie is the second Filipina to win the title and she transformed into a major figure in the world of performing arts later in her life. 

She served as the president of Ballet Philippines for nine years before being appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte to the board of trustees of the Cultural Center of the Philippines. She was subsequently elected to be the chair of the board. — Aya Tantiangco, GMA News
