Catriona Gray clears the air: Beauty queen ‘copying’ her look not a problem

Miss Universe Philippines 2018 Catriona Gray is using every minute she can to train for the pageant and for good reason — the competition is tough and you want to get that elusive "edge."

On Tuesday at the Grit and Glam event, she was able to learn from the queens who won the Miss Universe recently: Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, Iris Mittenaere, and Pia Wurtzbach.

The trio looked impeccable, but Catriona also stood out in a beautiful gray dress, which she paired with an ear cuff that's slowly becoming something of a trademark for her.

Catriona during the 2018 Binibining Pilipinas coronation night wowed in a golden evening gown, accentuated with a "three stars and a sun" cuff. 

Now, some fans are saying that what Miss Ecuador 2018 Virginia Limongi Silva wore for pageant night looks eerily similar to Catriona's iconic ensemble.

In a statement acquired by GMA News' 24 Oras,  Catriona said that neither the color nor the style of the dress and the ear cuff are hers exclusively. 

"Like the earcuff isn't mine, the gold color gown isn't mean, so I mean I don't see a problem with it. I mean, I'm happy for her, she won. I know behind her is her own journey," the beauty queen said.

Meanwhile, Catriona and her team are currently brainstorming figuring out how to top the beautiful dress and working on bringing a fourth crown home. — AT, GMA News
