Miss Eco International 2018 Thia Thomalla's winning answer

Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss Earth, Miss this and that... there are plenty of crowns to go around, but what are they for?

Beauty queen Cynthia "Thia" Thomalla was tasked to explain what all of these pageants add to people and she aced the typically nerve-wracking Q&A by speaking from the heart.

"I think that the most relevant thing that beauty queens can add to the world is raising awareness on their own causes. For example, Miss Eco International is raising the advocacy of sustainable tourism and protecting the environment," Thia said.

Thia in her official video for the pageant highlighted her passion for sports and love of nature. She loves traveling and hopes to promote the lush island paradise that is the Philippines.

Thia is the third queen from the Miss World Philippines 2018 to make history, the first being Teresita Ssen Marquez who is the first Filipina to win Reina Hispanoamericana and Sophia Senoron, the very first Miss Multionational. — Aya Tantiangco, GMA News
