Thia Thomalla wins first Miss Eco International title for PHL
Cynthia "Thia" Thomalla on April 27 made history as the first Filipino to win Miss Eco International. Thia bested 52 other candidates to win the title.
In an interview with Missosology immediately after being crowned, she said that she really just wants food and sleep!
"I'm just really happy and I hope I made my country proud!" she added.
Talent manager and showbiz stalwart Arnold Vegafria posted on his Instagram account the announcement of winners.
Miss Indonesia Astira Vernadeina was declared first runner-up, Nguyen Thi Dung of Vietnam came in at second runner-up, Costa Rica Glennys Medina Segura was third runner-up and Kelin Rivera Kroll of Peru was fouth runner-up.
Thomalla is the third titleholder from Miss World Philippines 2017 to bring home a crown from the international pageant.
The first is Teresita Ssen Marquez crowned as Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 in Santa Cruz, Bolivia and Sophia Senoron, Miss Multinational 2018 in New Delhi, India.
