Paramore concert in Manila moved to August 23

The Paramore concert set to happen on February 18, Sunday, has been pushed back months.

The band will be coming to Manila on August 23 to perform. Their concert in Jakarta is also in the process of being rescheduled, but they have yet to find a date for it.

On the official Facebook page of the band, vocalist Hayley Williams cited health problems as the reason for the concert's postponement.

"I wanted to write personally to tell you that I've been fighting a throat & upper-respiratory infection for the last 2 days. It's a pretty nasty sickness but if I would've been able to get my voice to come through for me, the guys and I would've done the show tonight anyway," Hayley said.

"After getting an official diagnosis from a doctor here in Jakarta, our team decided that it would be the right thing to postpone the show tonight in Jakarta as well as the next show in Manila to later this year. We'll return to Manila on August 23rd and are hard at work with the promoters to secure a date for our return to Indonesia. Please hold on to your tickets if you already have them," her statement continued.

She added, "We were so ready to get back to Manila because every show we’ve played for our Filipino friends has been a wild time ... We're coming back for you so please hang on 'til August."

This will be the band's third concert in Manila, first performing in the country in 2010, which was followed by a 2013 concert.

Paramore released its fifth studio album "After Laughter" this year, four years after its self-titled album,"Paramore." The band made its debut in 2005 with the album "All We Know Is Falling." — Aya Tantiangco, GMA News
