Bb. Pilipinas queens Chanel Thomas and Liz Clenci ‘ready to graduate’

The reign of the 2017 Binibining Pilipinas queens is nearly over, but they're keeping good memories.

Miss Grand International 2017 2nd runner-up Elizabeth Clenci and Binibining Pilipinas Supranational 2017 Chanel Olive Thomas said they have mixed feelings of disbelief and happiness as the new season of Binibining Pilipinas kicks off.

“I can’t believe it started. Pero sobrang masaya ako,” Thomas said during the launch of Araneta Center’s Photo Walk stations in Cubao on Friday.

Clenci said that they are “ready to graduate” and are looking forward for the new candidates to experience the journey they went through.

“We’re ready to graduate. It’s been an incredible journey for all of us and we’ve all grown incredibly as women. It was just more than anything I could’ve ever imagined and I’m really excited for the new girls to experience the same,” she said.

The Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Incorporated (BPCI) on Tuesday shared the official list of candidates who will be competing for the crowns and Clenci and Thomas are now thinking ahead.

The queens reminded their successors to keep in mind that they will be representing the Philippines in their future competitions. Clenci said that the ladies must stay true to themselves and put their heart and soul into the task.

“What I’ve learned from this journey is to stay true to your heart and to really represent the country well. Pour your whole heart and soul into it and be true to yourself and believe in yourself more than anything because it’s not the easiest journey,” she said.

“Sometimes you fall but just pick yourself up again and remember that you’re the carrying the Philippines on your shoulders,” she added. — AT, GMA News
