Rachel Peters: I’m sorry, Philippines
Binibining Pilipinas-Universe Rachel Peters has said sorry after she fell short of capturing the Miss Universe title in Las Vegas on Monday.
Peters, nonetheless, said she was happy because of the love she received as she set out to become the next Filipino Miss Universe after Pia Wurtzbach won the crown for the year 2015.
"I am sorry Philippines. We didn't get the crown but you know, I'm really happy and grateful for all the love and support," Peters said in Pia Arcangel's report on "State of the Nation."
"It was a wonderful experience for me and I couldn't be happier," she added.
Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters of South Africa was all praises for her namesake from the Philippines.
"She's absolutely lovely and you can be very proud of her. We spent our time together because of our surnames and countries that are close to each other," Nel-Peters said.
"It's really great. I'm so happy to experience this whole journey with her," she added. —NB/KG, GMA News
