4. It's her second time to join a national pageant. Laura is no neophyte to pageants. The beauty queen actually joined Binibining Pilipinas back in 2014, where she finished first runner-up.

She said that became her motivation to return and win a crown.

5. She is a model. Laura isn't new to striking a pose in front of flashing lights! With her statuesque figure and angelic face, it's not surprising that a number of brands have asked Laura to endorse their products.

On her Instagram account, Laura shared a couple of snaps of her young self holding puppies — isn't it evident she has been an animal lover since she was a kid? Adorable!

8. She is indeed a "beauty with a purpose". Miss World Philippines' tag "beauty with a purpose" perfectly fits Laura, she has been an advocate for children's education, her personal advocacy is called PREP (Promoting Rural Education in the Philippines), she visits elementary schools in Tagaytay or Batangas provinces to teach the kids.

"My personal advocacy is called PREP Promoting Rural Education in the Philippines and basically what we do is we visit elementary schools in Tagaytay city, Cavite or Batangas province and we interact with the kids, sometimes we teach them lessons that aren't available in their typical curriculum," Laura said in an interview.

(1/4) It was always difficult for me to select a Miss World Beauty With A Purpose project. Not because I didn't have any organization in mind, but rather because every organization deserved help. There is never too much help you can give, and there will always be people who need it and people who deserve it. How could I possibly tell someone, then, that they were more deserving than the next? It didn't make sense to me. I didn't know how to answer that question and this was the hardest part. Reflecting over time (and a good piece of cheese), however, I realized that sometimes, it's all about creating ripple effects. :) Ripple effects so that the one small change you inflict on someone could be carried on to the next. Helping people help themselves, and helping people help others as well - that was something sustainable and so that was the ultimate goal. This is the reason I chose EDUCATION. :) #MWP2017 #LauraForTheWorld

"I think what makes it sustainable is that we always donate books and we build libraries so that even after we're gone, even after we leave the schools, there's always a library for them."
