Visitors to Google are welcomed with an Earth Day-themed doodle showing a series of illustrations in which a fox had a nightmare on the adverse effect of climate change to Earth.
The doodle featured, among others, a dead marine species and melted icebergs which may affect penguins.
As the fox wakes up, it was determined to change its lifestyle for the benefit of the Earth. The fox then enlists its friends, Momo the Cat and Google Weather's favorite frog to protect and nurture the environment.
However, the campaign does not stop there, Google visitors can also easily get conservation tips once they click beyond the doodle to Google search.
1. Let's start simple. Remember to turn off the lights off when you leave a room;
2. Find a way to get outside and help plant a tree in your community;
3. Try carpooling, walking, biking, or taking public transit for a day; and
4. Eating fruits, veggies, or locally sourced foods can reduce emissions and waste.
"Whatever you do today, we hope you’re able to take a moment to savor and cherish this boundless, stunning Earth that we inhabit," Google said.
Earth Day is annually held every April 22 across the world, serving as a reminder for the people to promote conservation of the environment and to build a sustainable future on our only habitat—planet Earth. —Marlly Rome Bondoc/LBG, GMA News
