Mothers conduct river clean-up in Bagong Silang, Quezon province

A group of mothers on Saturday got together to clean up a river at Bagong Silang in Tagkawayan, Quezon. 

According to GMA News' Peewee Bacuño, they collected eight sacks of garbage — bottles of alcohol, mineral water bottles, diapers and junk food wrappers — left behind by people who flocked to the river for Lent.

The mothers, who have been conducting the clean-up drive annually, also plan to go to the other parts of the river. They explained that they do this every year to preserve the beauty of the river for their children.
