Vogue puts diversity on the cover of 125th anniversary issue
In celebration of 125 years of Vogue, the magazine put the spotlight on the "modern American woman" in the form of Ashley Graham, Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Liu Wen, Imaan Hammam, Adwoa Aboah and Vittoria Cretti.
Vogue noted, "March 2017 cover stars note a pronounced shift in body positivity while also alluding to the continued progress that needs to be achieved and sustained."
Set on a private beach in Malibu, the cover girls posed together, donning black turtle neck rash guards paired with high-waisted trunks, still slaying their "beach babe" looks even with less skin bared.
Model Ashley Graham continued to wave the body-love flag as she continued to push for the representation of different shapes, sizes, and ethnicities in the fashion industry.
“Sixty-seven percent of the women in America wear a size 14 or larger. Sixty-seven percent. Maybe you could ignore those consumers before, but now, thanks to social media, they’re making their voices heard. Women are demanding that brands give them what they want. And what they want is to be visible,” Graham told Vogue. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas / AT, GMA News
