Sushmita Sen walks the 65th Miss Universe stage like a queen
It's been 23 years since she became Miss Universe and it seems Sushmita Sen has only grown more regal.
On Sunday, the beauty queen shared a video from the rehearsals for the 65th Miss Universe grand coronation night and in it, Sen is seen owning the stage in the same way she did in 1994.
"This is it. The stage that changed my life 23 years ago. Where India made history. What an honor it has been to represent my country," Sen said in the video, which has been viewed over 20,000 times in just a few hours.
Sen was crowned by Puerto Rican beauty queen Dayanara Torres in 1994 at the Philippine International Convention Center. She is the first Indian woman to become Miss Universe.
Over two decades later, Sen returned to the Philippines as an accomplished actress and a panelist for the 65th Miss Universe pageant. The beauty queen excitedly told her fans that coming back to Manila is like coming home.
"[L]ife comes a full circle, from winning Miss Universe, to having owned its Indian Franchise to now...returning back to Manila this time as a judge at the 65th Miss Universe pageant!!!" Sen wrote on her Instagram account.
Sen will be serving as a judge in the 65th Miss Universe grand coronation event, along with fellow titlists Torres and Leila Lopez. Also on the panel are Mickey Boardman, Francine LeFrak, and Cynthia Bailey.
