Miss Indonesia's national costume is positively golden
The 65th Miss Universe national costume competition has given Miss Indonesia Kezia Warouw the perfect opportunity to channel the holy bird Garuda.
Warouw will be wearing an intricate gold costume designed by Dynand Fariz.
Garuda in Hinduism is a symbol of swiftness and strength. A passage in the Mahabrata reads: "Loud was the noise with which Arjuna faced his foes, like that made by Garuda in days of yore when swooping down for snakes."
Photographed Ronny Ario Joewono by, it seems Warouw is interpreting that strength as fashionable fierceness.
