Skyscanner's 2016 eight best PHL hotels to celebrate Christmas

Skyscanner, a global travel search site, has come up with its 2016 list of eight best Philippine hotels to spend Christmas in.

The list includes:

Radisson Blu Cebu

The site said the hotel not only offers good holiday packages but also wows their guests with lavish and luxurious Christmas decorations.

Its holiday treats include "prime rib, ham, salmon, turkey and the internationally famous Cebu lechon," Skyscanner noted.

Radisson Blu's website said its "Christmas Treat" package costs P6,900 and inclues buffet breakfast for two, complimentary mini bar, Christmas gift, 20% discount on either Christmas Eve dinner or Christmas Day lunch.

Fairmont Makati

"Fairmont Makati, often revered as one of the best hotels in Manila, will certainly get you into the Christmas spirit with its incredible holiday deals," Skyscanner said.

According to Fairmont Makati's website, the hotel offers not only Christmas accommodation packages but dining treats as well such as its Zarzuela Merienda every Saturday of December, from 2:30-5:30 p.m. For P799 per person, guests can enjoy a buffet of Filipino Christmas native desserts: puto bumbong, suman latik, and bibingka.

Its holiday accommodation packages start at P6,700 and includes a buffet breakfast for two. Children ages 12 and below eat for free.

Huma Island Resort and Spa

Skyscanner said, "Whether you’re traveling with your partner or the entire family, a stay at Huma Island during the holidays will give you a soothing tropical respite as well as a cheery Yuletide experience, with its cultural dancing performances, cocktail parties and Christmas caroling."

Huma Island in Busuanga, Palawan has a 15-kilometer perimeter and features 81 thatched roof villas with bamboo design.

Its water villa "Seashells and holidays" package starts at P83,999 and includes a two-night accommodation, boat transfers, and use of motorized marine sports equipment, among others. Gala Christmas dinner costs P3,355 per person/per night.

Peninsula Manila

Skyscanner said Peninsula Manila guests can take their pick from "one of its impressive collection of restaurants, including Escolata, Spices, Old Manila and The Lobby."

One of the Christmas traditions at the Peninsula Manila for the last 30 years is its "Christmas Concert at The Pen." This year's concert, for the benefit of The Peninsula-Gawad Kalinga Village,  was held last December 10. It featured the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of Maestro Ruggero Barbieri, as well as pop star Bituin Escalante, soprano Stephanie Aguilar, mezzo soprano Krissan Manikan, and tenor Lemuel dela Cruz.

Bayview Park Hotel Manila

"Bayview Park Hotel Manila has a terrific festive package that offers you a great chance to celebrate the season with your family in a very fun and jolly fashion," Skyscanner said.

Bayview Park Hotel Manila, with a 75-year history, is a boutique hotel situated across the US Embassy and is close to Intramuros, Manila's oldest district which is rich in history.

The hotel's Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve packages, which start at P5,485 per night, include: overnight accommodation, buffet breakfast for two, as well as buffet dinner for two with bottomless cocktail.

The packages also entitles guests to a surprise gift and complimentary tickets to five attractions.

Marriott Hotel Manila

Skyscanner said, "Marriott Hotel Manila will bring a sense of excitement and magic to your holidays with a host of seasonal Yuletide offerings."

Marriott is located at the Resorts World casino entertainment complex and is near the 18-hole Villamor Golf Course.

Marriott's holiday deals start at P11,000 for a stay at its premium rooms.

Shangri-La’s Boracay Resort and Spa

"Shangri-La’s Boracay Resort and Spa certainly knows how to put up a sprightly and pleasant Christmas getaway. From heartwarming surprises and joyful carols to festive dining options, guests of this tropical paradise will get to enjoy a wide array of treats during the Christmas season," Skyscanner said.

According to its website, Shangri-La Boracay is a secluded resort with a 350-meter beachfront and a 12-hectare garden. It features 219 elegant guestrooms and villas with either a private pool or an outdoor jacuzzi.

Its "Seaside Christmas" offering, which includes special discounts on accommodation and dining, is available from December 19, 2016 through January 1, 2017.

Its Christmas and New Year spread of international cuisine starts at P2,600 per person.

Discovery Country Suites-Tagaytay
