Duterte excited to be granddad to Sara's triplets

President Rodrigo Duterte couldn't be happier that he will soon be a grandfather to triplets from his daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

Speaking candidly to reporters in his bailiwick, Duterte said he wishes good health on his daughter and the triplets.

"I am more than happy, so I prayed to God sincerely na bigyan sana ng magandang health ang anak ko, si Inday para—hiling ko lang, basta normal lang ang mga bata. I’ll be happy," he said.

"By that time, retire na ako. But hayaan mo nalang akong tigahabol niyang mga iyan. Kung ibigay ng Panginoong Diyos ha. Inshallah. Inshallah," he said.

When the triplets come out, Duterte will then be a granddad to 12 kids. So far, he has five grandchildren from Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, two from Sara, and two from Sebastian Duterte.

Sara announced that she is seven weeks pregnant with triplets last week to explain why she was not present during the Kadayawan Festival.

But the revelation came not without controversy when forensic pathologist Dr. Raquel Fortun suggested that the announcement was just a publicity stunt for Duterte.

"Wait for deliver and spare oneself from heartache. PR for Lolo?" she tweeted on August 20.

Sara responded by pointing out that public officials need to explain their absence in important events while calling Fortun a "dugyot na ampalaya". — AT, GMA News
