Filipino YouTube creators Bogart the Explorer, Lloyd Cafe Cadena, Mikey Bustos, and Abra were in this year's lineup, joined by Filipino-American Alex Wassabi, Gab Valenciano, and a capella group The Filharmonic.

Connor Franta, Alex Wassabi, AJ Rafael, Tanner Patrick, Tiffany Alvord, and Wengie also made fans figuratively swell with joy in a night that ended in a colorful confetti shower.

Prior to the show in the evening, The Filharmonic and Tyler Ward gave an exclusive performance for the press.

YouTube Asia Pacific Director Ajay Vidyasagar said in a press conference prior to the show that the FanFest represents the success of the social media platform in the country, noting the incredible increase in the amount of YouTube's usage in 2015.

"FanFest is really a celebration of the triumph that we achieved together," he said.

He cited that there is an 80% increase in YouTube's watchtime in the Philippines, with 50% of the views come from mobile usage.

"People are watching whatever they want to watch, wherever and whenever they wanna watch. The number of hours spent watching YouTube has actually doubled in the past year.

"Philippines is truly special to us...we're back again and this year's FanFest will be bigger and better." he added.

Reese Limbaga, who created the hashtag (#BringYouTubersToManila) that birthed YouTube FanFest, said that it is important that fans got to meet video bloggers who already made their names to serve as an inspiration.

"It's more of the real interaction, they are not gonna be on the screen anymore. This is YouTubers giving back to their fans," she said. — AT, GMA News
