Marikina shoe industry goes online

You no longer need to go all the way to Marikina for a new pair of shoes.The Marikina Shoe Industry Development Office (MASIDO) has partnered with LBC Express' ecommerce site TheShop.ph for marikinashoes.theshop.ph, from which customers can order shoes online.

The online store offers 100% leather shoes from Marikina-based shoemakers such as Gibson, A-Fit-Tizer, Valentino, Checkpoint, Fontelle, Pads Shuz, Ellen & Mae, Alicia, and Medz Shoes.

According to a press release, the shipping fees for the shoes will be waived for the first six months.

“This initiative won’t just make us globally competitive. We are also bringing to the world durable, affordable and high-quality shoes. We are bringing to them a leather design that’s worth their money,” said Marikina City Councilor Mario de Leon.

Customers have the option to pay for the shoes with cash on delivery or use their credit cards to pay online. — BM, GMA News
