Priest brings ‘dance of life’ to Cebu
Could this relatively new dance be both a form of exercise and therapy?
A priest is promoting "Biodanza" in Cebu as a meditative expressive arts dance therapy, GMA Cebu reported Thursday.
Fr. Loreto Jaque said he learned this new form of art, which he considers a "dance of life," in Peru.
Biodanza supposedly promises not only to help one lose weight but also lower stress levels—and help a person understand oneself.
Jaque said this new form of dance is not quite widespread in Asia yet.
One of those practicing Biodanza, Raymond Leyson, said he felt the benefits of the dance not only on his health but also on his relationship with his wife.
A Facebook post by the Children's Paradise Montessori School in Cebu said Jaque is finishing further studies on Biodanza.
"He may just be the first Filipino who have brought Biodanza to the Philippines.....and first in CPMS!" it said. — Joel Locsin/BM, GMA News
