Rizal stamps on exhibit in Quezon till July 3

Philatelists can still commemorate the 154th birth anniversary of national hero Dr. Jose Rizal with a stamp exhibit in Quezon province that runs until July, the Philippine Postal Corporation said.

According to PHLPost, the exhibit at the Luis Palad National High School in Tayabas is held in cooperation with the Tayabas Historical and Conservation Society.

"Visitors will be seeing all original and never before seen Rizal stamps, artworks, love letters and other memorabilia of our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. The exhibit will present, in chronological order, the old and latest issues in limited copies of the stamps with introductory texts," it said.

Visitors will be charged a P10 entrance fee. The proceeds will go toward the renovation of the school's Gabaldon building.

Philatelic Youth Club

Meanwhile, PHLPost encouraged students and the public to participate in stamp collecting by joining the Philatelic Youth Club.

Those interested may get a starter kit with application form, mini album, ID and P10 worth of stamps.

PHLPost also said the public may try using the Personalized Stamps to be installed at the exhibit area.

They can now create their own photo stamps to use as gifts or souvenirs but also to mail letters. — Joel Locsin/BM, GMA News
