Urbandub to split up, will hold final show on May 9

It's a sad day for Pinoy rock fans: Cebu-based Urbandub is splitting up.

In a post on its official Facebook page, the band said that it will stage its last show on May 9 at Metrotent, Metrowalk in Pasig City. The event also marks Urbandub's 15th anniversary in the Pinoy music industry.

"THANK YOU for all the blessings. Our lives are forever changed for the better because of the support and love you all gave. We are truly grateful. Our songs will play on through you... ENDLESS," the band said in the post.

Urbandub is composed of Gabby Alipe, Janjan Mendoza, Lalay Lim, and John Dinopol. Some of their well-known songs include "First of Summer," "Frailty," and "Evidence."



While the May 9 concert will be their last show as original members of the band, the band will only be parting ways next year, Urbandub's booking manager Carleen Panganiban told GMA News Online.

Two Urbandub members will continue as session players, but the rest will pursue personal interests, she added. — BM, GMA News
