'Break Free' singer Ariana Grande to bring 'The Honeymoon Tour' to Manila

Listen up, Filipino fans of Ariana Grande! The American singer-actress is coming to the Philippines for her "The Honeymoon Tour."

MMI Live, the same production company that recently brought British boyband One Direction to Manila, broke the news on its Twitter account on Tuesday.

It said that Grande is set to perform in the country on August 23 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Grande had a banner year in 2014 with the release of her sophomore album, My Everything. The album included hits like "Problem" featuring Australian rapper Iggy Azalea, "Break Free" with German-Russian musician/producer Zedd, and "Love Me Harder" featuring singer/songwriter The Weeknd.

The pint-sized star with a big voice has not only charmed fans because of her talent. Her peers in the music industry, such as Katy Perry and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, as well as music critics have praised her four-octave vocal range, which has been compared with Mariah Carey.

Before she became pop's newest diva, Grande began her career in the Broadway musical 13 then she joined the Nickelodeon's show Victorious as Cat Valentine--her claim to fame as far as tween audience is concerned.

Recently, Grande earned thumbs up from netizens after she did a "spot-on" impersonation of Celine Dion's "Beauty and the Beast" on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. —Trisha Macas/JST, GMA News
