Binibining Pilipinas-Intercontinental Christi McGarry ineligible to join pageant?

Is 2015 Binibining Pilipinas-Intercontinental Christi Lynn McGarry still eligible to join the Miss Intercontinental pageant?

A few moments after her title was announced on Sunday's coronation night, pageant enthusiasts asked that question as she has already joined that pageant in the past.

McGarry previously held the title of Mutya Ng Pilipinas-Asia Pacific, making her the representative to the Miss Intercontinental tilt in 2010, where she placed in the top 15.

The Binibining Pilipinas organizers only acquired the franchise to send contestants to the Miss Intercontinental pageant in 2014.

The organizers, for their part, said they are still figuring out how to resolve the issue.

"The Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Incorporated is studying the issue about Christi Lynn McGarry who then competed for Miss Intercontinental 2010. We will update everyone should we arrive at anything final," the organization said in a statement. —JST, GMA News
