LOOK: The five Pinoy designs in the finals of the Binibining Pilipinas national costume contest

After the Binibining Pilipinas National Costume Competition held last February 26, five top local designers remain standing: Philip Tampus, Albert Andrada, Frederick Peralta, John Cliff Dimaala, and Edwin Uy.

The gowns they designed were judged by their originality, design, elegance, execution, and overall look. Here are their gowns.

Philip Tampus

Candidate No. 25 Rogelie Catacutan modeled the dress designed by Tampus, who proved his craftsmanship through the amount of detail put into the gown.

Albert Andrada

Andrada designed two gowns for the competition — one worn by Candidate No. 10, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, the other worn by Candidate No. 31, Mia Allyson Hernandez Howell. It was Wurtzbach's that made it to the Top 5, a gown studded with shells to represent the white beaches in the country.

Frederick Peralta

The gown designed by Peralta and worn by Candidate No. 34 Teresita Ssen Marquez, presented the modern Maria Clara with its simplicity and elegance.

John Cliff Dimaala

In a sleek white gown splashed with a bright yellow, Candidate No. 27 Ina Dominica Guerrero was a vision of joy as she modeled the piece designed by Dimaala.

Edwin Uy
