PHOTO GALLERY: Lantern Parade night at UP Diliman

Monday night was painted with light and fireworks as University of the Philippines Diliman celebrated its annual Lantern Parade.

 

UP students from Diliman as well as those from Manila and Los Banos made up the majority of the crowd, but families and children also took part in the festivities. 

 

The colleges and organizations of the University of the Philippines proudly showed off the floats and lanterns they created as they circled the Academic Oval. The themes of the floats embodied certain symbols that is present in the Philippine culture, such as fiestas and folk songs. This year, the champion of the Lantern Parade is the Institute of Islamic Studies.
