The address of several multinational corporations and trendy hotspots, Bonifacio Global City (BGC) is poised as the next financial hub and is already home to business executives and expatriates visiting the country for extended periods.

Recognizing its growing clientele in the area, The Ascott Limited—which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year—has added a new service residence under its wing, the Ascott Bonifacio Global City Manila.

"In developing cities like BGC in Taguig, serviced apartments are preferred, especially with companies just starting their offices in the city which will require travelers to stay for extended periods," said The Ascott Limited regional general manager Arthur Gindap at the building's property tour on Tuesday.

What to expect

The service apartment only formally opened on November 21, but it has already won recognition from the Philippine Property Awards 2014 as the Best in Hotel Architectural Design. Its architecture was also described as "highly commended" by the Southeast Asia Property Awards 2014.

The 30-storey property has 220 units that range from 75 studio apartments (from 43 to 52 square meters in area) to the lone three-bedroom Premier unit (197 sq. m.).

During the property tour on Tuesday, residence manager Philip Barnes also told the members of the press that the furniture are mostly from local suppliers.

There is a 25-meter outdoor swimming pool, as well as a jacuzzi, a sauna and steam room, and a fully-equipped gym with personal trainers.

For expats, the Ascott Host Program offers city tours, special events for kids, and social gatherings for all the residents in the property.
