BCBG Max Azria opens third store in Manila, debuts California Dreamin' line

Chic Boheme - Peter Printed Sleeve Moto Jacket
BCBG Max Azria opened its third store in Manila this month at the Newport Mall, Resorts World. A modest space with minimal interiors, it relies on its product display to do the talking.

Here in the Philippines, the brand's latest summer collection, named “California Dreamin',” was exclusively previewed during the store’s launch. Named after the US's Golden State, it carries a definitive West Coast vibe of ethereal bohemia, as accentuated by ethnic textiles, digital prints,  and delicate embroiderry.

These design elements are geared to appeal to the Filipina as well, as in the Philippines, tropical hues and fabrics are wardrobe staples.

Some of the outfits carry colors of larkspur blue, coral reef, and bright lime, contrasted by other garments with white as the anchor and black as the accent. Fabric blends and textures of soft lace, satin, silk, and linen in tropical florals, bold striped, and ethnic textile prints are mixed and matched together to create bold yet subtle combinations.

World Beat: Eva Scarf Print Dress.
The California Dreamin' line has six key collections that offer versatility. Filipinas can wear them during weekdays or weekends, making the garments worthy of their designer price.

The “Chic Boheme” and “World Beat” lines feature ethnic prints and embroidery. An ensemble from this casual yet playful collection would best suit garden parties, vacations, or weekend getaways.

The “Counter Culture” line juxtaposes stripes and monochromes and throws in textual details to lend an athletic touch. Lapel jackets, slim pants, cropped shorts, and assymentrical tops belong in this collection.

California Sun: Aida Printed Shift Dress.
The “California Sun” line is comprised of nature-inspired prints and graphic stripes for dynamic day-to-night outfits. For example, the Aida printed shift dress and the romper, if worn with slippers, are daytime attire; to transform them into trendy nighttime attire, slip on some heels and added an accessory.

The “Good Vibes” line also offers this easy-transition practicality in its outfits; the difference is, it features rich violet shades and draped silhouettes that make the transition effortless.

The “Easy Breezy” collection elevates laidback essentials like linen pants and tank tops to a sophisticated edge with embroidery and engineered stripes.

BCBG’s entire product line has key silhouettes that include skirts, tunics, shorts, and night out tops. Its accessories are punchy and bold, ranging from clutches in bright colors to statement necklaces with a bohemian touch. — VC, GMA News
