Karl Roy rocked this world to the end
"I’m alive! I’m so alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" is how Filipino musician Karl Roy declared his passion for life on Facebook Saturday, March 10. But Roy —famous frontman for musical acts Kapatid, P.O.T. and Advent Call— passed away just three days later, succumbing to cardiac arrest following a stroke last Monday, his third stroke since 2008. He was 43 years old. Roy suffered two strokes in March 2008. After undergoing a heart bypass operation, the local music icon bounced back and continued singing with a renewed passion for life. The one thing he needed to survive, Roy said in an 2009 interview with Rogue magazine, was the people who love him. "I need people to inspire me, to validate what I'm feeling is real," he said.
