Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi is now married

Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi just got married!

The South African beauty queen made the surprise announcement on Instagram, showing photos from her wedding with Luthando Bolowana.

“I love you endlessly..Husband,” Zozibini captioned her carousel post containing sweet moments from the wedding, plus stunning bridal portraits.

Details of Zozibini and Luthando’s relationship have always been private. According to Zozibini’s post, they got married at the Belair Pavilion, Paarl, Western Cape, South Africa on March 22, Saturday.

Zozibini was a gorgeous bride in an elegant off-shoulder gown with unique floral details by Vietnamese designer Phan Huy.

The designer’s post revealed that the gown took three months to complete and over 700 hours of work, “involving numerous stages and dedicated artisans.”

“Each flower on the dress was hand-cut and shaped; the veil featured intertwined large and small floral rings adorned with over 300 organza flowers,” the designer said. “The 3D floral branches on the gown were meticulously handcrafted by four artisans, incorporating more than 14 types of beads and stones.”

Zozibini provided her measurements from abroad to Huy’s team in Vietnam due to her busy schedule. The dress fit perfectly during the first fitting.

Zozibini was crowned Miss Universe in 2019, succeeding the Philippines’ Catriona Gray.

She was the longest-reigning Miss Universe due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Her reign ended in 2021 when she crowned Mexico’s Andrea Meza the new Miss Universe.

Zozibini was in the country in 2023 as a special guest host for Miss Universe Philippines, won by Michelle Dee.
