Kapuso director Zig Dulay among The Outstanding Young Men 2024 awardees

Kapuso director Zig Dulay, known for the award-winning film “Firefly” and GMA series “Maria Clara at Ibarra,” was named among The Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) 2024 in the Culture and Arts: TV and Film category.

GMA Pictures shared the good news on Facebook Sunday night. Shortly after, GMA Network’s First Vice President for GMA Public Affairs and Executive Vice President for GMA Pictures, Nessa Valdellon, expressed her pride for the director.

“So proud of Direk Zig Dulay! TOYM awardee for 2024!” Valdellon wrote.

Dulay is also the director behind the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival 2024 entry “Green Bones,” starring Dennis Trillo and Ruru Madrid.

The film follows notorious criminal Domingo Zamora (Dennis), who was arrested for the murder of his sister. Ruru, who plays newly assigned prison guard Gonzaga, observes that Domingo might be planning an escape and will do what he can to ensure he stays behind bars.

Aside from Dulay, other TOYM 2024 awardees include Pia Wurtzbach, Pia Ranada, Brent Andrew Viray, Dennis Umali, Jose Gabriel Mejia, Rascinto Ian Lumbres, Billie Dumaliang, and Jenica Dizon-Mountford.

Congratulations, Direk Zig! —AOL, GMA Integrated News
