Catriona Gray, Pia Wurtzbach, Michelle Dee praise Chelsea Manalo's national costume

Chelsea Manalo's national costume for Miss Universe 2024 won the approval of her fellow queens!

Catriona Gray, Pia Wurtzbach, and Michelle Dee left comments on Chelsea’s post about the gown, and they have nothing but praise for her.

Catriona, who was crowned Miss Universe in 2018 said, “An absolute favourite WOW,” with heart-eyed emojis.

Pia wrote, “Ang sarap mong panoorin.”

“Good luck Chelsea keep smiling keep enjoying,” the Miss Universe 2015 queen added. She also congratulated fashion designer Manny Halasan and the whole team behind the look. And congratulations [Manny Halasan] and the whole team!!!”

Michelle, Miss Universe 2023 Top 10 finalist and the one who crowned Chelsea had this to say: “GANDA.”

Chelsea’s Miss Universe national costume, “Hiraya,” was inspired by the religions in the Philippines.

The Filipina beauty queen wore a gold dress with white sleeves and a bright blue train with an image of the Our Lady of Antipolo or Our Lady of Good Voyage.

She wore a silver and gold headpiece with a boat to signify the Galleon trade, and held two fans as she walked, reminiscent of what is used in the Philippine Muslim ethnic dance, the singkil.

Chelsea will vie for the country's fifth Miss Universe crown on the coronation night on November 16 (November 17, Philippine time).

She won the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 crown in May, becoming the first Filipino-Black American candidate to ever win the title.
