CCP's Tanghalang Pilipino kicks off ‘Sandosenang Sapatos’ re-run
The Cultural Center of the Philippines' (CCP) resident theater company Tanghalang Pilipino (TP) just launched its re-run of the musical "Sandosenang Sapatos."
Beginning November 15, theater fans can now follow the journey of 12-year-old Susie, a girl who wishes to fulfill her shoemaker father's dream of having a ballerina for a daughter. She, however, was born without feet.
"Sandosenang Sapatos" underscores the power of family and the importance of caring for loved ones, especially those with special needs. The musical was also part of the lineup of Tanghalang Pilipino's 37th Season in 2023
This year, it is the second production under the company's 38th Season, "Revolt,” following "Balete."
The musical is based on the short story of the same name by Dr. Luis Gatmaitan. It is adapted by Layeta Bucoy and directed by Jonathan Tadioan.
Felicity Kyle Napuli and Wincess Jem Yana will be alternating for the role of Susie, while Tex Ordoñez-De Leon will play the role of Nanay, and John Joven Uy as Tatay.
"Sandosenang Sapatos" runs until December 8 at CCP’s Tanghalang Ignacio Gimenez. Tickets.
