'Firefly' to be showcased in Japan's KINEKO International Film Festival
"Firefly" is heading to Japan!
The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) announced on Facebook that GMA Pictures' award-winning movie will be part of the 31st edition of the KINEKO International Film Festival in Tokyo.
Aside from "Firefly," director Janelle Basallo's "Dahon" will also be screened at the festival, which will be held from October 31 to November 5.
"We hope these two impactful Filipino films will inspire young audiences in Japan and motivate filmmakers in the Philippines," FDCP wrote, congratulating the teams behind the Filipino projects.
"Firefly" starred GMA Sparkle child star Euwenn Mikaell and award-winning actress Alessandra de Rossi. It is based on the original story of GMA Public Affairs Senior AVP Angeli Atienza and is directed by Zig Dulay.
More cast members include Miguel Tanfelix, Ysabel Ortega, Max Collins, Yayo Aguila, Cherry Pie Picache, and Epy Quizon.
