Jasmin Bungay dedicates Miss Globe 2024 national costume to OFWs

Jasmin Bungay took inspiration from the hard work and dedication of overseas Filipino workers for her Miss Globe 2024 national costume.

The Filipina beauty queen called her costume “Bituwing Marikit,” a blue gown creation with modern butterfly sleeves by Cholo Ayuyao.

“Inspired by the nights when OFWs wonder and watch the night sky in the deserts of the Middle East, playing back moments and memories with their families; hoping for the fruition of their sacrifices, of their toiling,” Jasmin wrote in an Instagram post.

“When midnight blue envelopes the world, each twinkle of a star is a prayer of every OFW dreaming of home.”

Jasmin won the Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2024 crown in July.

The Kapampangan beauty advocates for the empowerment of overseas Filipino workers and the rights of the LGBTQ+ community.

She flew to Albania in September for the international pageant.

During the sashing ceremony, she wore a golden gown by Angeles City-based designer Carl John Miranda.

Jasmin is vying for the Philippines' third Miss Globe crown, which was taken home by Ann Lorraine Colis and Maureen Montagne in 2015 and 2021, respectively.

The Miss Globe 2024 coronation night is happening on October 15.
