'Six the Musical' cast overwhelmed by 'incredible' Filipino audience: 'Core memory, it'll last a lifetime'

The Filipino crowd never disappoints!

"Six the Musical" has officially started its limited run in the country and Filipino theatergoers delivered in being an incredible crowd to the show's cast.

Tudor queens Billie Kerr (Catherine of Aragon), Liberty Stottor (Jane Seymour), Hannah Victoria (Anne of Cleves), Lizzie Emery (Katherine Howard), and Eloise Lord (Catherine Parr) shared their love and appreciation for Filipino fans during a media conference on Wednesday at The Theatre at Solaire in Parañaque City.

"[At] the opening night, end of the show, we're all in tears because we're overwhelmed with love. We're having the best time," said Lizzie.

She also described Filipino fans as "lovely" inside and outside the theater.

"The vibe you bring to the auditorium is incredible. We can't wait to be here for nearly two more weeks. It's only just begun," she added.

Billie echoed the same sentiments, noting that Filipinos have the "most incredible reception" because they do not hold back.

"Honestly, I can't tell you how much as a performer that means to us when we're on stage. You know, it's so encouraging to have so much love to be felt in the room, and it makes us want to do better, you know? You guys are incredible," she said.

According to Eloise, the Filipino audience's reception gave them more energy to perform.

"The first night when we came out, we've never had it before, when Billie said, 'divorced' and everyone screamed. We all had tears in our eyes... Like Billie said, all of our audiences are amazing," she said.

"Yes. Core memory, it'll last a lifetime, for sure," attested Billie.

Meanwhile, Filipino-American singer Yna Tresvalles was excited to return to the homeland because she got to be with her family who she hasn't seen since the COVID-19 pandemic.

"It's been such an emotional homecoming. I get to see so much family that I haven't seen and meet nieces and nephews that I haven't met because the pandemic separated me from my family. And my Lola is gonna see me perform for the first time," she shared.

For Yna, being part of "Six the Musical" is the most amazing experience of her life. Despite this only being the beginning of her career — she's certain that she'll be carrying the experience for a lifetime.

"Six the Musical" runs until October 20 at The Theatre at Solaire under GMG Productions.

Created by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, "Six the Musical" tells the narratives of the six wives of King Henry VIII in their own perspectives, with each queen telling "her-story" beyond the status of a royal wife.

Tickets are available via Ticketworld online and outlets nationwide, with prices online ranging from P1,798.60 for balcony seats to P5,078.40 for orchestra.

"Six the Musical" debuted at the Edinburgh Festival in 2017 and premiered in the West End and on Broadway in 2019 and 2020, respectively. Some of the popular songs in the musical are "Ex-Wives," "I Don't Need Your Love," "Six," and "No Way."

It has gone on to win 35 major international awards, including two Tony Awards and a nomination at the Grammys.
