A Jose Mari Chan musical is opening in November

In time for the Christmas season, a Jose Mari Chan musical has been announced and is happening this November.

“Going Home To Christmas: A Jose Mari Chan Musical,” opens on November 29 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Makati City. 

“You know the man. You’ve heard the songs. This Christmas season, watch us bring his songs to life on the theater stage,” Repertory Philippines said in its Facebook announcement.

The production shared the musical’s poster, which references the singer’s iconic meme where he peeks through a door or wall.

JMC shared the post on his Facebook page, thanking Repertory Philippines "for honoring me with this project!”

Jose Mari Chan is the singer behind the classic Filipino holiday song, “Christmas in Our Hearts.” He recently went viral for turning emotional at an event where the audience sang along with him.

He put out some love songs in the '90s including “Beautiful Girl,” “Please Be Careful with My Heart,” and “A Love to Last a Lifetime" and was among the composers of the songs, “Mamang Sorbetero” by Celeste Legaspi with Gryk Ortaleza, and “Ang Nobya Kong Sexy” by Apo Hiking Society with Jim Paredes.
