Dingdong Dantes, Alden Richards win Movie Actor of the Year at 40th PMPC Star Awards

Dingdong Dantes and Alden Richards won big at the 40th PMPC Star Awards!

The Kapuso actors both took home the Movie Actor of the Year award at the awarding ceremony held at the Henry Irwin Lee Theatre at the Ateneo de Manila University on Sunday.

Dingdong was recognized for his breakthrough performance in the blockbuster movie “Rewind,” while Alden was cited for his role as Lance in “Five Breakups and a Romance.”

Aside from the Movie Actor of the Year Award, the Kapuso Primetime King also won the Takilya King and Queen Award with his wife Marian Rivera.

Meanwhile, Asia's Multimedia Star also bagged the Movie Loveteam of the Year award alongside Julia Montes for their roles as Lance and Justine in "Five Breakups and a Romance."

Aside from Dingdong and Alden, other Kapuso stars were also recognized by the award-giving body.

Gladys Reyes also won Movie Supporting Actress of the Year for comedy film "Here Comes the Groom."

"Firefly" star Euwenn Mikaell bagged the Movie Child Performer of the Year award for his role as Tonton in award-winning director Zig Dulay's "Firefly."

Sparkle stars Ysabel Ortega and Dustin Yu, on the other hand, won the New Movie Actress of the Year and New Movie Actor of the Year awards, respectively, for "Firefly" and "Shake Rattle and Roll: Extreme ("Rage" episode)."

Neil Daza likewise bagged the Cinematographer of the Year award for his work in the acclaimed "Firefly," while Francis Concio won Movie Musical Scorer of the Year for "Rewind."
