Who is Binibining Pilipinas International 2024 Myrna Esguerra? 5 things to know about our new queen 

We have a new Binibining Pilipinas International queen, and she’s none other than Myrna Esguerra of Abra! 

Myrna made waves during the coronation night on Sunday following the multiple awards she collected and her impress answer during the Q&A.

She was by Miss Universe 1973 Margie Moran: “If a time machine brings you back to 1964, 60 years ago when Binibining Pilipinas began, what message would you tell the Filipino women of that time about the women of 2024?”

Myrna answered: “I will tell the women of the past we have achieved our goal, which is to empower women. Standing here, at the age of 17, I started to finance for my own studies and help my family financially. I was able to do this by all these women who paved the way to empower us to always reach for our goals, no matter what it is. Because in life, we can always achieve our dreams, as long as we believe we can.  And thanks to them all. Thank you.”

1. She's a loud and proud Abrenian 

Myrna proudly represented her hometown Abra in the Binibining Pilipinas 2024 pageant. 

The national costume competition saw her wear a piece inspired after Dulimaman, an epic heroine of the Tinguian people of Abra, showcasing her Abrenian roots. 

The move is no surprise as the 22-year-old has been promoting the beauty of her hometown on social media. For instance, we learned from Myrna about some of Abra's hidden gems like the Lusuac Springs in Lagayan and Mount Bullagao also known as the Sleeping Beauty of Abra. 

 

 

2. She loves traveling 

Myrna has a great love for traveling and just like to explore the beauty of the world! 

As seen in her Instagram posts, she has travelled to different countries and places in the Philippines such as South Korea, Taiwan, Siargao and La Union. 

 

 

3. She is a talented host

Aside from being a beauty queen and a model, Myrna has also a knack for hosting. The Abrenian served as a host of the preliminaries of Miss Abra 2024 in March and Mutya Ning San Antonio in 2023.

4. An environmental advocate 

Competing in the national pageant, Myrna’s advocacy is all about environmental preservation.

In 2022, she participated in the National Clean Up Summit and helped in the clean up drive at The Lighthouse Marina Resort in Subic, Zambales.

Through her platform, she continuously encourages people to take action in protecting and preserving the environment. 

5. She's a hakot queen

Myrna didn’t only win the Binibining Pilipinas International crown, she also won four special awards

During the pageant’s coronation night, Myrna took home the Best in Evening Gown, Best Swimsuit, Binibining Urban Smile and Binibining Philippines Airlines. She is also among the Top 5 Best in National Costume.
