'Bawat Bonggang Bagay' returns to stage for two-weekend run

Just in time for Pride Month, The Sandbox Collection is re-staging the Jon Santos-led play "Bawat Bonggang Bagay" (BBB) for a two-week run.

Starring multifaceted artist and comedy icon Jon Santos, "Bawat Bonggang Bagay is a Filipino translation of Duncan Macmillan's interactive one-man play "Every Brilliant Thing."

The play will run from June 22 to 30 at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater in Circuit Makati.

BBB was first staged in 2023 as a part of Sandbox Fest 2023, and it was nominated for Best Play at the 2023 BroadwayWorld Philippines Awards, with Santos receiving a Best Actor nomination.

The play also received significant appreciation for its clever treatment of topics generally considered taboo in Filipino culture.

Celebrating their 10th year anniversary, The Sandbox Collection said the new translation creates more personal and nuanced connections with the audiences.

Jon Santos is the iconic impersonator of the Star for All Seasons, Vilma Santos, former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, and other famous personalities.

He also played the role of older Emman in "Ang Huling El Bimbo"" the musical in 2018.

"Bawat Bonggang Bagay" is directed by Jenny Jamora and translated by Guelan Luarca.

Tickets are available via premier.ticketworld.com.ph, with prices ranging from P1,620 pesos to P2,160. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
