Miss Universe Philippines 2024 candidate Janet Hammond joins Miss California USA

After representing the Filipino community in Southern California at the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 pageant, Janet Hammond is now set to compete at the upcoming Miss California USA competition.

The beauty queen herself confirmed to GMA News Online the latest development through an Instagram direct message.

“Yes,” she answered with a sparkles emoji, when asked if she will compete at the Miss California USA competition.

The 26-year-old will be representing Arcadia City. The coronation night is happening on June 23.

The winner will be crowned by reigning Miss California USA Tianna Clark and will be representing the state in the Miss USA pageant.

At the recent Miss Universe Philippines competition, Janet was among the three contestants who stood out in the National Costume round.

However, Janet fell short of making it to the Top 20 during the coronation night last month.

Bulacan’s Chelsea Manalo won the national crown, while Stacey Gabriel of Cainta was named the first runner-up, and Ahtisa Manalo of Quezon Province was named the second runner-up.

Tarah Valencia of Baguio is the third runner-up, while Christi McGarry of Taguig is the fourth runner-up.
