Miss Universe Philippines clarifies that 2024 season 'spanned three months, not four months'

The Miss Universe Philippines organization issued a clarification on the length of pre-pageant activities for this year’s pageant.

On Instagram, the organization said that the photoshoots, rehearsals, workshops, and tours prior to the coronation night spanned only "three months - NOT four months, with the competition itself running for two months and three weeks."

According to MUPH, the candidates had their press presentation on February 18 and then took a break before proceeding with another activity on March 5. They then took another break from March 24-31 for Holy Week.

“Despite these pauses, consistent social media content maintained visibility and momentum, creating the impression of continuous activity,” the organization said. “In this brief yet impactful period, the delegates not only competed for the crown but also formed genuine sisterhoods, made unforgettable memories, and experienced an epic finals night.”

The Miss Universe Philippines 2024 coronation night was held on May 22.

Bulacan’s Chelsea Manalo won the crown, while Stacey Gabriel of Cainta was named the first runner-up, and Ahtisa Manalo of Quezon Province was named the second runner-up.

Tarah Valencia of Baguio is the third runner-up, while Christi McGarry of Taguig is the fourth runner-up.

Chelsea admitted that there was a time when she almost backed out of the competition due to financial reasons.

“It’s no joke—I would like to say that I think all of the ladies, for four months, it’s really scary, and it’s a really long battle for all of us to fight it. You don’t know where our resources will come because everyone would have to risk something, and this is what happened to me, but because of the support that I’ve been getting, it made me continue and now I’m here,” she said.
