Pianist Asuncion, violinist Saraza perform in Goldenberg concert series


 

Pianist Victor Asuncion and violinist Diomedes Saraza, Jr., performed as part of the Goldenberg Concert Series.

According to the Social Secretary's Office in Malacañang, their performance dubbed "Ang Piyano at ang Biyolin: Mga Musika sa Pilipinas" transported the audience "into the heart of our favorite films with breathtaking performance."

"A night of unforgettable melodies and masterful artistry," the office said on Facebook.

Asuncion, a Steinway artist, is praised by The Washington Post for his "poised and imaginative playing." 

The office said versatile Asuncion 

has performed globally as a recitalist and concerto soloist. 

"His orchestral debut at 18 with the Manila Chamber Orchestra marked him as a leading pianist," the office said.

"Notable collaborations include Lynn Harrell and Frank Almond. As Artistic Director of the Evanston Chamber Music Society and Chamber Music @Lauderdale by the Sea, he is dedicated to promoting classical musicians," it added.

Saraza, a Juilliard graduate and Yale alum, is a violin virtuoso with prestigious scholarships and awards. 

"He has captivated audiences worldwide since winning the National Music Competitions for Young Artists in the Philippines at 12," the office said. 

"His performances include soloing with orchestras like the New York Symphonic Arts Ensemble, the Manila Symphony Orchestra, the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Sichuan Philharmonic Orchestra," it added. —NB, GMA Integrated News
