'Firefly' lands on Beijing International Film Festival 2024

"Firefly" has achieved another milestone after landing on the Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) 2024.

The GMA Public Affairs and GMA Pictures film has started screening on April 18 and will run until April 26.

"Firefly" tells the story of Tonton (Euwenn Mikaell) and his journey as he searches for the mythical island of fireflies based on his mother Elay's (Alessandra De Rossi), bedtime stories.

It reaped several accolades in the MMFF 2023 Gabi ng Parangal, including Best Picture, Best Screenplay, and Best Child Performer.

Directed by Zig Dulay, "Firefly" was also screened in several United States cinemas last month.

It was shown at the inaugural Manila International Film Festival (MIFF) in California in February, where it took home several awards including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Supporting Actress for Alessandra.

"Firefly" is set to premiere on Prime Video PH on April 30.
