‘Crazy Rich Asians’ is getting turned into a stage musical
“Crazy Rich Asians” is in the process of getting turned into a stage musical, with plans of bringing it to Broadway!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film’s director, Jon M. Chu, is also set to direct the upcoming musical. It is being developed by Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures and the book’s author Kevin Kwan.
The musical’s book is by Leah Nanko Winkler, music by Helen Park, and lyrics by Amanda Green and Tat Tong.
“Crazy Rich Asians” follows an Asian-American named Rachel Chu who travels to Singapore with her boyfriend, Nick Young, and finds out that he comes from one of the world’s richest families.
Starring Constance Wu, Henry Golding, and Michelle Yeoh, the film featured Kris Aquino in a special role as Princess Intan.
