PH's Gwendolyne Fourniol highlights quality education in her Miss World Head to Head Challenge entry
The Philippines’ Gwendolyne Fourniol used her Miss World Head to Head Challenge entry to talk about education, the fourth Sustainable Development Goal of the United Nations.
In her video uploaded on the Miss World's website, the Filipina beauty queen said she advocates for quality education in the spirit of one earth, one family, and one future.
“Picture a world where every child, regardless of gender, ethnicity, or socioeconomic background, has access to quality education, where education is not a privilege but a universal right, a world that is possible through technology, investment, and policy,” she said.
“Technology must be leveraged to provide educational opportunities, even to the most remote areas,” Gwendolyne continued.
She said investments must be made to ensure that resources reach marginalized communities.
“Policies geared towards diversity must be developed to foster an environment where young minds can reach full potential,” she said.
Gwendolyne ended her speech by saying, “With technology, investment, and policy I know that we can make inclusive and equitable quality education a reality for every child around the world.”
Gwendolyne flew to India last weekend. Before flying to the host country, she asked for support for the Multimedia Award challenge.
During the opening ceremony, Gwendolyne proudly showcased Ilonggo textiles through her national costume.
Gwendolyne took home the Miss World Philippines crown in 2022.
The 71st Miss World Festival kicked off on February 18 and will end on March 9.
